After building 3D HR regional velocity models almost everywhere in the world (2,500,000 km²), the regional project we conducted this year with Murphy Oil Corporation in the Tano Basin, Ivory Coast, was our first in Africa. The challenge remained the same: integrating data of various types (seismic velocities, horizons, well velocities) and ages through 3D geostatistical algorithms to create an optimal velocity model for depth conversion. It was successfully completed.
