New Regional Velocity Model in Denmark

When one of the supermajors expressed interest in having an optimal tool for depth conversion in Danish waters, they turned to us. Although they provided some of the data used to build the RVM, most of it came from the GEUS database. Thanks to GEUS’s efforts to make subsurface data easily available in recent years, we now have access to a variety of vintage 2D and 3D seismic processings, as well as hundreds of check shots. That’s all we need to build a robust RVM that can be used not only for hydrocarbon exploration but also for carbon storage exploration. The model is extensive, covering Denmark from the North Sea Central Graben in the West to Copenhagen in the East.
