In 2023, for the first time, ESTIMAGES worked on 3D onshore regional velocity models (onshore Perth, onshore Canning). The challenge was high, especially due to the various qualities of the input data. The reconciliation of seismic velocities, well time-depth functions, and interpretations was not easy. But 3D non-stationary geostatistics coupled with geological and geophysical expertise made it possible. The models are now in place and ready to be used for depth conversion.
